The Board of Trustees, is constituted as a corporate body and consists of between 7–14 elected RSPCA members.  The trustees do not receive remuneration for their involvement.

New trustees are recruited through RSPCA Branch membership; national charity volunteer websites; networking and word of mouth; and, local media.

Candidates for election must be nominated in writing by at least two eligible Branch members.  Eligible candidates are elected by a majority of Branch members present and voting at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and candidates must have been members of the RSPCA Branch for three clear months prior to nomination. Trustees are elected to serve until the next AGM, unless their term of office is brought to an end at an earlier date.

We are look for enthusiastic, skilled and committed new trustees to join our Board of Trustees. 

We would like to hear from people of all ages (over 18) from all social and cultural backgrounds, who have sound business, management and strategic skills, and passion for animal welfare. If you have the ability to work collaboratively and bring different experiences and new ideas to the Board, especially income generation, IT and PR and social media we would love to hear from you.

Board of Trustees:

Nick Cockram – Chair.  

Appointed trustee 5th March 2018.  Nick is semi-retired with a history of senior appointments with Hewlett Packard, Mars Corporation and De La Rue, where he was also Chairman of a joint venture company in with the Russian Central Bank.  He ran his own business specialising in currency authentication, which he sold and subsequently worked with many smaller businesses backed by venture capital organisations including Simoco, a supplier of emergency services systems, where he was Managing Director.

Maureen Falloon – Treasurer. 

Appointed trustee 5th March 2018.  Prior to retiring in 2017, Maureen worked for over 40 years in the not–for-profit sector, working at Director level, with Greenpeace International, Healthprom, a UK based charity working in the former Soviet Union and locally with Age UK.  She has also worked as a Management Consultant with a range of charities and in the 70s, worked in the advertising and film industry in London and New York.  Public service offices held include Governor of a College of Further Education and NHS Foundation Trust, Chair of the London Region of Age UK.

Isabel Glenister – Branch Secretary.

Appointed trustee 4th December 2019. Isabel worked for the RSPCA National Society for 20 years working for various Directors in an Executive Assistant roles and several year as the Executive Assistant to the Chief Legal Officer.  For the past 3 years, and to date she is Practice Manager for Senior Partner of St. James's Place Wealth Management.  She has a BA (hons) in Business Administration, Associate Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, Accredited Practice Manager, St. James's Place Wealth Management. 

Paul Marshall 

Appointed trustee 5th March 2018.   Paul is currently the Leader of West Sussex County Council. He is an elected councillor and represents the Storrington Division. Paul is also on the board of the Coast to Capital LEP which focus on the economy, skills and Business within West Sussex and East Surrey.  Paul’s commercial background is in Retail & Marketing. He has held significant Director roles in his career and has a background of consultancy in Retail, Supply Chain and Marketing. He has a Masters in Retail & Marketing.

Gill Stribling-Wright

Appointed as trustee 19th December 2018.  Prior to retiring, Gill’s professional carer has been in television.  She joined the BBC Television in 1966 working initially in administration and thereafter Producer for sixteen years in the Light Entertainment Department. She moved on to London Weekend Television as a Producer originating hit shows and three nationwide telethons raising money for charities. She went on to become Controller of Entertainment at Television South.

Fleur O’Kelly 

Appointed trustee 19th December 2018.  Fleur has been an RSPCA member for 44 years and was trustee of the Branch from 1996-2006. Fleur‘s professional background is in advertising and publishing.  She was Advertising Executive with Wildlife Magazine and Readers’ Digest, Editor of Hambro Company Guide and Associate Publisher of World of Interiors. She has diploma in Communications & Marketing and is a Yachtmaster.

Alexandra Faye 

Appointed trustee 25th June 2019. Alexandra is French and has lived in the UK for 31 years.   She has 15 years experience in teenager’s behaviour as a foster carer and as a Behaviour Manager in a secondary school for 13 years.  Alexandra also has experience in Marketing and transport, working for 7 years as a Manager for P&O ferries.  Alexandra has an Honour degree in French Studies, a degree in International Trade and is currently working on a level 5 in an Advanced Diploma in Applied Animal Behaviour.

Claire Penhallurick 

Appointed trustee 19th August 2020. 

Former director of Islamic and Indian Art at Bonhams, London, now has an antiques and modern design business in Petworth, West Sussex. Claire has five Lhasa Apsos and a rescue Bengal cat.

Rachael Mills 

Appointed trustee 19th August 2020. Rachael has worked in the offshore wind industry for over 12 years and is currently Coordination Manager for the environmental workstream delivering the Government's Offshore Wind Sector Deal to support the delivery of offshore wind projects to meet the UK's 2050 net zero target. Prior to this role, Rachael has worked for the Danish renewable energy developer, Orsted, and in central government where she led Defra's farming environmental knowledge transfer programme and also marine environmental licensing of offshore renewable energy projects. Previous voluntary positions include Trustee for the Greek Cat Welfare Society (UK) and education volunteer at London Zoo.
