The boys were born on Halloween, 31st October 2017.  The breed is Cotton Doodle, a cross between a Coton De Teulear from Madagascar and a poodle.

We went to see the puppies mid December where we chose Harry, but couldn’t bring him home  until the 27th December when he was 8 weeks old.  Having thought about it for a night, we decided we would get Harry a brother, and got Jack, he was the runt of the litter.
We collected the boys at the end of December 2020.  They were inseparable.  They played together, ate together, slept together, walked together, they even peed and pood together sometimes!

In june 2020, Harry was diagnosed with pancreatitis.  He did start to improve, but in August, he wasn’t well again, and it was decided that he would have open surgery to take biopsies. Three days after surgery he went down hill drastically,  he had a blood clot and his back legs became paralysed and we decided the kindest thing to do was to have him put to sleep, Friday 14th August 2020.  Our hearts were broken.

The results of the biopsy showed that Harry had Inflammatory  Bowel Disease.  It was a no win situation.  If he hadn’t had the biopsies, he would have been in pain, on medication and at the vets on and off all his life, and not having the biopsies, which caused a blood clot and paralysis in the back legs they would not have known exactly what was wrong with him.

The 2 years and 9 months Harry lived, he was thoroughly spoilt, and loved his very short life.

Jack really does miss his brother.
