We have passed the halfway point in the project and it is great to look back at the progress that has been made. The photo below was taken in 2016 and shows the old kennel back runs and yards. The space behind the kennels was such a wasted area as it was not able to be utilised as exercise paddocks as they were too close to each other and the kennels, causing stress to all the dogs.

In it's place we now have our fantastic kennel block and isolation unit which contains 22 dog kennels. The kennel block will have it's own sheltered paddocks for the dogs to use, and the dogs will have a view of the field, or a courtyard out the back of their runs.

Internal works are steaming ahead too,  with the underfloor heading completed in the kennels now. The cedar shingle tiles are now going on all the new building roofs. The link from our new reception to the cottage is also taking shape and looks fantastic. The cottage is being refurbished to be used at the sites offices, and due to the age and condition needs a little TLC first so is having damp remediation works done.

Our training barn is having a bit of a lift too, it is being full enclosed and having new external cladding. The space inside is being opened to create more room inside for the dogs to have training and chill out time from the kennels.

As the restrictions have now lifted we are experiencing more calls to help people and are still building our foster network to enable us to continue rescuing animals. If you would like to join us as a foster volunteer please email [email protected]
